Kirsten joined Riverlands Chambers in 2026 and practises in the area of family law.

Admitted to the bar in 2006, Kirsten began her legal career in property law in Timaru in 2007. She also practised in Ashburton, before taking time out to raise her family and completed a Master of Social and Community Work before returning to the law in 2021, bringing with her a depth of insight into the human dimension of legal practice that shapes her approach to family law today.

Kirsten's clients often come to her in crisis, facing some of the most difficult periods of their lives. What she values most about her work is the people. Every person and every situation is unique, and she is committed to working alongside her clients to reach resolution and help them move forward positively.

Kirsten holds an LLB and MSCW(Applied) from the University of Otago and is a member of the Family Law Section of the New Zealand Law Society.

Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys supporting her children in their sporting and cultural pursuits, socialising with friends and family, pilates, hiking, travel, tennis, and is currently learning golf.
