Bio
Jannah Stringer is a barrister at Riverlands Chambers, practising in family law, civil litigation, and employment law. She began her legal career in 2009 as a law clerk and solicitor in general practice in regional Otago, before moving into a litigation role with a respected Christchurch firm. There, she advanced from junior solicitor to partner before joining Riverlands Chambers in 2017 to practise on her own account.
Jannah’s focus has always been on litigation, but her early grounding in general practice has provided a strong foundation for dispute resolution across a wide range of matters. She works primarily in Canterbury and Otago, with strong professional connections in both regions, and practises throughout New Zealand.
The legal work Jannah enjoys most involves personal connection. She wants to understand your story and how she can help you, your family, your business, or your organisation resolve an issue or improve a difficult situation. If you’re seeking understanding, empathy, and plain English to help demystify the legal process, she encourages you to get in touch.
Jannah holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Canterbury and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Otago. She is a member of the New Zealand Law Society, the New Zealand Bar Association, and the Family Law Section.
