Jacob Poff is an employed barrister at Riverlands Chambers, working in the areas of criminal law and mental health law. Admitted to the bar in 2023, he holds an LLB (Hons), a Master’s degree in Philosophy, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Canterbury. 

Jacob currently practises under the supervision of Matthew Smit, and is approved to take legal aid matters in his own name. He is also available for private instructions, including applications under section 106 for discharge without conviction.

Jacob brings a thoughtful and analytical approach to his work, informed by his background in philosophy. Outside of the law, he enjoys football, climbing, and engaging with big ideas.
