Chris Nolan was admitted to the bar in 2014 and joined Riverlands Chambers in 2025. He has a broad legal background, with significant experience in criminal law, employment disputes, appeals, and coronial inquiries.
His practice is characterised by a pragmatic, client-focused approach, with a strong emphasis on finding practical and effective solutions.
Over the course of his career, Chris has acted in a wide range of matters, from serious criminal cases to complex employment disputes. He is known for his strong analytical skills and his ability to navigate sensitive and high-stakes situations with calm professionalism.
Chris studied law at the University of Canterbury and is a member of both the New Zealand Bar Association and the New Zealand Criminal Bar Association.
Outside of work, he enjoys diving, swimming, and travel.
